Looking to go to Nicaragua for a mission trip … Advice appreciated!?

Hello, I would like to participate in a mission trip with my church to help orphanages in Nicaragua, no one has the advice to businesses who donate to charity in San Diego, CA? The church give a receipt for tax purposes. I need to raise $ 1,500. I think it would be an incredible opportunity to do the job if, if the gods can make money. All opinions are appreciated!
