church outings

Everyone needs friends, and, as parents, you and I know that we are responsible for the social life of our children and our own. As homeschoolers, we also that children do not need public schools to the pressure to find friends. . . So I will not waste time with hundreds statistics to support teachers in the home and socialization. Instead we will explore two ways to find old friends from the lives of our children. . . and us!

Support and fun, all in one!

The best way to find friends for his family in search of Homeschool groups in your area. Find one that suits your lifestyle, religious beliefs pedagogical beliefs and the best and join him! Here are some great online sites to help you find groups in your area:

After finding the group that suits you, do not feel overwhelmed by all the activity, remember … Homeschool Group activities are opportunities, not an obligation! Many groups are very organized and offer many activities, but should not feel that all or nothing kind of thing. Choose your activity and only do what you and your children want.

Too Much of a Good Thing? Try a mini-Support Group!

Moreover, many groups are very organized, and once they find someone smart and capable, which resemble are ready to take control, going to throw them across the organization. No! If your group is new Homeschool disorganized just trying to get a list of names of the homeschoolers in your area and the ages of their children. Start with a family at a time (with children close in age to mine) and start calling them and this way you can make up their own mini-group support! Smaller groups are better known to the other modes. Once you have found a family, give them a call:

"Hi, I am homeschooling my children in the same neighborhood as you. The information I got from the Homeschool group box told me that her two children the same age the mine. Honestly, my kids and I are looking for some friends in the region Homeschool. I was wondering if sometime this week we can find in the park and a picnic. You can select the day and I'll make my famous fruit salad!

This approach works like a charm – and if the first family is not interested in calling, which is unlikely, call the next person. Fear of rejection is not something you should worry about. Remember: You are now solely responsible for the interaction of young children with new people – to take the reins and make the first no! If not for yourself, do it for them.

When you get together with his new play group, here are some thoughts on the field of education Fantastic Voyage:

Fire station, library, park, beach, zoo, airport, art or history museum, the Children's Museum, Governor's office, police station, farm, factory, sports, industry local (bottling plant, the mill, steel, coffee plantation), instead of working parents, nursing homes and any type of outdoor activity (hiking, skiing, etc.). The best thing to do is find what you have in your area and use the available resources. You may be surprised that exists!

Football & Brownies anyone?

The next best place to find friends is through extracurricular activities. See what's available in your city and talk to their children. Friends of course, when their children are involved in activities with children their age. Call the YMCA of ideas is an excellent place to start. Here are some of our favorites:

Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, soccer, softball, gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, summer camps, youth groups, college classes for homeschoolers, Writing 4-H clubs, choir, spelling and geography bees, game days, volunteering, Drama clubs, religious groups, craft classes, books, clubs, Bowling Club, Skating, Teen Club, and almost anywhere you can imagine!

Stay-at-Home TIPS:

Try to finish schoolwork, along with local schools. Then your children can play with neighborhood children, like everyone else.

If you have other children in the family, about the age, the more attractive. My son's best friend is his cousin. We live nearby and always call or come. My son had many friends, but it has its "Best Friend". So life is good!

Do not forget! We are so absorbed with our children that we forget ourselves. Talking Homeschool moms group or classmates and plan the evening, a young " 's out" and go to dinner or simply to someone's house to talk, eat and have a good time. No children! Schedule your "play time" as if it were their children and have fun doing it!

New friendships are not difficult to find because they remain open to new people. We just have to leave the house (beyond the mailbox) and adventure. These fun outings encourage all our families to make friends, of course, we all need! Thanks for listening and I hope that some of these ideas will help you and your children to sustain life and lifelong friends.

Happy Homeschooling!
