Although Wallace Nutting was widely recognized as the largest producer of hand-colored photographs during the 20th century, was the photographer not only the sale of such image. Across the country hundreds of regional photographers were hand-colored photographs of the sale of their home region or traveling. The aim of these photographers is very similar to Nutting, including interior, exterior, foreign affairs and several unusual scenes. The main determinants of value include the recovery of photographer particular subject, size and condition of the course. Note that only the few tables in the best conditions, providing maximum prices. Bleaching and / or damage The picture or matting can reduce the value significantly.
Large Wallace Nutting-like photographers: Other photographers use big business and, while not as large or known Nutting sold a large number of images you can still easily found today. - David Davidson: Second to the total production Nutting, Davidson has worked primarily in Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts. While studying at Brown University, 1900, Davidson learned the art of photography, hand colored directly from Nutting, who became the church minister Providence, RI Davidson. After moving to Southbury in 1905 Nutting, Davidson graduated from Brown and began a successful photography business in Providence that led to his death in 1967.
- Charles Sawyer: A father and son team, Charles H. Sawyer and Harold B. Sawyer, Sawyer led the successful Art Company in 1903-1970's. From Farmington ME, Sawyer Art Company moved to Concord NH in 1920 to be closer to its main market of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Charles Sawyer briefly worked for Nutting in 1902-03, while living in southern Maine. The volume of production deals Sawyer the # 3 behind Nutting and Davidson.
- Fred Thompson: Frederick H. Frederick Thompson and Mr. Thompson was another father and son, who operated the Thompson Art Company (TACO) 1908-1923, working primarily in the Portland, ME area. We know that Thompson had collaborated Nutting Thompson widely marketed by a domestic scene that was taken from his home in Southbury Nutting. The production volume of leads Thompson Art Company 4 rear ranking Nutting, Davidson and Sawyer.
- Charles Higgins: Freedom from Bath Maine, some of the best pictures Higgins Nutting best competed. Company No connection was found between Higgins and Nutting.
Axis Wallace Nutting-like photographers: a hundreds of other local and regional photographers of small market tried to return color images comparable to Wallace Nutting during the period 1900-1930's. Although very attractive, most were not as attractive to the general public as Wallace Nutting pictures. However, as the price of Wallace Nutting pictures intensified the work of these lesser-known Wallace Nutting-like photographers have become increasingly collectible.

Robinson (New England), Patterson, Owen Perry and Phelps, Phinney, Reynolds, F. Robbins, Royce Fred'k Scheetz (Phila, PA); Shelton, Harry L. Standley (Colorado); Stott, Summers, Esther Svenson, Florence Thompson, Thomas Thompson, A. Trott, Sanford Tull, Underhill, Villar, Ward; Wilmot Edith Wilson, Wright.
The same guidelines apply to images that normally apply to Nutting Nutting-like images as well:
- Outdoor scenes are the most common.
- Some photographers sold colonial interior scenes.
- Case, State, and size are important determinants of value.
